I’ve always enjoyed making stuff. I blame my mother. Mum never got the opportunity to go to art college but when I was little, I remember her going to evening classes in pottery, life drawing and painting. It was her escape from 1970s domesticity. She was made up that 5 of her 6 children did get to art college. No wonder none of us have ever amounted to much. Like mum before me, I just like making stuff, especially making new stuff out of old tat, so papier mâché really hits the spot. Sadly, I can’t always get hold of suitable wire to re-use, but everything else in my work has  had a previous life. I’ve even taken to re-using my old masking tape. Seems a waste not to. Mum would be proud.
