Jamie Mainiero

I have always been creative, working with metal, wood, and naturally forged clay for various projects. For many years, I studied and focused on textile design and crafts, eventually starting a small business selling commissioned embroideries and other creations. After taking a break from all artistic endeavors to seek a new direction, I developed chronic fatigue syndrome and worsening fibromyalgia, leading to a mental block and uncertainty about pursuing my desired work.

Although I had occasionally painted, it wasn't until 2016 that I fully explored the potential of acrylics, discovering new techniques for layering colours and textures. The art world often seemed too serious for the playful work I wanted to create. A significant part of my journey involved accepting that niche art could still find appreciation. This realization was liberating and helped me become unstuck.

Bringing my love of vibrant hues into this medium, I naturally transitioned to my favorite subject: felines. Primarily working on paper, my creations are characterized by distinctive charm and bold colour statements. My depictions of these animals have steadily gained collectors in America, Europe, and the UK. My diverse styles and freedom from traditional art world confines embody the essence of my unique artistic journey.
