Anita Murphy

My work has shifted to abstracted landscape, influenced by atmosphere.  It is important to allow the painting to evolve through process.  The surface is worked to build a pictorial archaeology with earlier marks visible.  Inspiration is the landscape, but may be a phrase that has evoked a response.  I like my work to give a sense of peace and stillness.
