Sam Waters

Sam is an abstract artist driven by curiosity, texture, and colour, fascinated by how surfaces record time, use, and memory. After many years in the corporate world, she returned fully to my creative practice, working intuitively with layered mark-making and expressive paint to create pieces that feel tactile and atmospheric.​

Her work is inspired by real places and structures, from the quiet rhythm of historic stonework to the ordered beauty of engineered and mechanical forms. Sam explores repetition, erosion, and fragmentation to suggest resilience and repair, with colour ranging from muted, earthy tones to energetic, expressive palettes guided by mood and movement.
