Kate's abstract florals are an emotional response to her love and respect for nature. In particular the diversity of flowers to be found in the natural world, her own cottage garden or those found in formal gardens. She works in an expensive and dynamic manner, building up many layers. Creating a sense of mystery as the flower heads emerge from the canvas, their broken edges capturing their fragility and that of our beautiful planet.
