Gabi Komar-Dixon

Gabi creates highly decorative, tactile bowls that reflect the joy of throwing clay on the pottery wheel.

She embellishes her vessels with intricate patterns and textures, employing a variety of techniques including carving, imprinting and traditional slip trailing. The focus and speed of throwing is balanced with the slow, mindful decorating techniques that follow.

Gabi’s work is characterised by organic shapes and vibrant colours. Her designs are inspired by nature, particularly her love of the sea, and are also influenced by the ornate Art Nouveau style of her birthplace, Budapest.
